Our Story

Tailwind Waymakers’ mission is to provide aviation education and training to those that dream of a career in aviation and cannot afford the high cost barrier to entry.

Dustin Davis, the founder of Tailwind Waymakers saw a huge need in the aviation industry for more pilots and believes one of the many factors in the pilot shortage is due to the high cost barrier to entry. This was the reason he did not pursue his childhood dream of becoming a pilot out of high school.

Raised by a hard working single mom, with government assistance, additional schooling to become a pilot was not an option. His senior year of high school, Dustin worked a 12-hour night shifts at a factory and went to school when he got off work.

After graduating, he went straight into the trades doing construction, electrical and HVAC. It was 20 years later that a friend introduced Dustin to the Network Marketing Industry, where he discovered the concept of Personal Growth and Development.

He learned Earl Nightingale’s Strangest Secret and how to adjust his thinking just as Robert Kiyosaki’s rich dad taught to stop saying, “I can’t afford it,” and instead ask “how can I afford?” After adopting this thinking, he found a way. He quit his job and started his own HVAC business, and 7 months later became a private pilot.

Dustin believes in the WIN-WIN Principle, the Reap and Sow Principle and the Principle of Giving and these are the backbone of the Tailwind Waymakers idea.

In addressing the issue of people not being able to afford to pursue their dream aviation career, Tailwind Waymakers provides funding for education and training.

Tailwind Waymakers non-profit is growing a community of aviation enthusiast and supporters which we call "Waymakers" because they are making the way for others to join this incredible industry.

The plan is to spread the word of our mission and grow to where we are helping hundreds and thousands achieve their dream career in aviation and to be able to give back to our "Waymakers" by giving away a new plane every month.
